Abstract

I explore the political status of Pajaro, California as a community entity within the Monterey County, analyzing how public policy affects community empowerment and greater self-sufficiency. By focusing on issues related to local, state, and national government structures, action steps for social change can be identified not only for Pajaro, but for all unincorporated communities of Monterey County.
