Abstract

This action research project examines the perceptions of 18 general education teachers at an elementary school that fully include students with moderate to severe disabilities in general education classrooms. The study asked teachers to complete questionnaires and participate in small group and individual interviews regarding the topic of full inclusion. Teachers provided information regarding their thoughts on the benefits and limitations of fully including students with moderate to severe disabilities in their classrooms. Information was also provided regarding teacher insights into best practices for implementing a quality inclusion program.
