Abstract

In many elementary schools the physical education standards and curriculum are being neglected. A greater focus is being put on language arts and mathematics and passing standardized tests. The goal of this project is to give teachers an initial step to teach physical education in their classroom. A resource booklet containing simple, easy activities was developed for elementary school teachers so they can more readily provide students with a physical education curriculum. The booklet was given to teachers so they could have some available lessons in physical education. Teachers and educators will see the importance of physical education in a student’s schooling and how it can be incorporated into the classroom.
