Abstract

Visual Arts are more than drawing and sketching. They are part of our daily lives. Visual arts have the potential to let elementary school children use them as a medium of communication and learning. Despite their benefits, visual arts are neglected in the elementary curriculum because No Child Left Behind (NCLB) has diminished the value of visual arts in education. This research examines the benefits of visual arts for elementary school children through the analysis of literature, interviews, and perceptions of selected subject participants.
