Abstract

Students with ADHD have a history of inappropriate behaviors, being inattentive at school, and not improving academic achievement. This literature review examines effective teaching strategies that improve attention and appropriate behaviors for students with ADHD. Through methods of peer tutoring, self monitoring and time outs with positive reinforcement, ADHD students can learn how to suppress problematic behavior and increase their attention to class work and staying on task.
