Abstract
An outstanding athlete who participated in a water sport in high school drowned. The night I was at water polo practice. This incident served as the inspiration for this project. Twenty high school water polo players participated in a survey which asked questions regarding water safety and responding to emergencies around the pool. Based on my research and as part of my action, I wrote to the Athletic Director and Principal to get a phone on the pool deck to ensure that there is a way to call for help in an emergency. We now have a phone on the pool deck of Sunny Bacon High School.
