Abstract

Art in underperforming schools is diminishing as our education leaders seek more concentration on the more centralized subjects, such as reading. Reading is one that the STAR testing observes, in which it is decided whether a school is considered underperforming. This study will concentrate on reading as a way to integrate art into the student's education. The goal is a further understanding of why visual arts is an essential entity in reading instruction.
