Description

Photograph of mural in Bldg. 2798, 11th and 12th Streets, west lobby, north wall, 74" wide x 94" high. Mural has images of Joe P. Martinez (first Latino-American to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor), General Joseph Stilwell (Commander of the 7th Infantry Division 1940-1941), General William Tecumseh Sherman, and General George Washington. Artist is Don Howard 1976. The building the mural is located in has a history of different uses; post headquarters, officers' club, and welcome center. It is currently referred to as Martinez Hall (named after Joe P. Martinez), and is a veterans transition center providing services for homeless veterans.
