SLIDE SHOW AT TIME IS POSSIBLE ALTERNATIVE TO THE EMBEDDED IMAGE--DECIDED TO KEEP

COMING SOON! THIS IS A DRAFT VERSION OF THIS EXHIBIT FOR PREVIEW PURPOSES

Welcome to this exhibit showcasing late 20th century LGBTQ history of Monterey County. Students from HCOM 359: Sexuality, Law and History developed sections of the exhibit, drawing on a growing Monterey County LGBTQ History Collection housed in Archives and Special Collections at the Tanimura and Antle Family Memorial Library at CSU Monterey Bay. The goal is to showcase various important themes in late 20th century LGBTQ history as seen in part through local lenses. Given that many LGBTQ archives tend to document urban areas, these collection provides a useful window onto how these themes played out here--and what we can learn about LGBTQ history from such a vantage poiint.

Another goal of this exhibit is to provide teachers seeking content to implement in their history and social science courses with more information about local LGBTQ history. Each section of the exhibit provides links to a sample of materials available in the Monterey County LGBTQ History Collection--digitized for easy use in the classroom. Each section also provides citations to scholarly sources and links to additional materials.

We hope you enjoy browsing the exhibit!
