The Brandenburg 300 Project Honors John Gilbert Schoenoff
After I gave the Keynote Speech at the California State University, Monterey Bay Commencement, I was flooded with feelings of gratitude towards the people who helped me through hard times. None was more important than Mr. Schoenoff, a junior high school Guidance Counselor who probably saved my life. During a particularly difficult couple of years he informed my teachers I could go to his office when I was distraught. We would walk around the playground together as long as needed and then I’d go back to class.
