Abstract
The purpose of this action thesis research was to investigate parental involvement among Mexican immigrant parents in the special education of their children. Parent participation is important in light of the many decisions that are to be made, from the child's referral to eligibility determination and placement decisions. Qualitative methods were used to explore the following research questions: How are families of bilingual special education students currently involved in the special education of their children? What are the parents' concerns, priorities, and feelings about their involvement in the education of their children in the special education program?
