Abstract

My project is an instruction manual entitled My Book of Sounds for Reading. It describes in detail how to teach the sounds of letters that make two or more sounds. It is accompanied by a workbook where children will be able to write the letters that represent the sounds. They will hear the sounds from their instructor and repeat the sounds. This manual can be used by teachers, parents, homeschoolers and anyone interested in helping children who are struggling to learn to read. It’s an excellent intervention tool to help raise reading levels and can be used along with other curriculum that teaches the basic sounds of the letters in the English alphabet, and it may be used to teach children in grade levels from Kindergarten through 8th grade.
