Abstract
This paper will discuss the benefits for healthy living for families and the physical and cognitive effects unhealthy habits have on children. Many parents are unaware of the consequences that come with poor eating choices and lack of physical activities for their children. This paper will define proper nutrition, the adequate amount of exercise necessary and the challenges parents face to promote healthy living for families. Focus will relate to the theory associated to promoting healthy living, diversity of this concept and the learning outcomes for the lesson planned aimed to parents.
