Abstract
Friday Night Live builds partnerships for positive and healthy youth development, which engage youth as active leaders and resources in their communities. Adolescents experience an immense amount of pressure from their environment that leads them to seek the easiest escape. This is where we see substances like cannabis introduced into their lives. The Cannabis Education and Prevention Toolkit implemented at the Pajaro Middle School Chapter educated youth on the effects of cannabis on the adolescent brain while participating in youth leadership opportunities. The Pajaro Middle School Chapter was later asked to complete a survey rating their satisfaction with the toolkit. Results showed an overall positive satisfaction rate for the toolkit. Adolescents need transparent education to fully understand what substances are and how they affect a young person's health and well-being.
