Abstract

This senior capstone examines the relationship between technology and the level of physical activity participation of elementary school students, in particular, the impact of technology on their physical activity participation. Through the use of literature review, in-field observations and surveys with students and teachers and physical education specialists, the result findings reveal that there is an obvious decline in the level of student physical participation in activities. However, the relationship between technology and student participation in physical activity is complex and is influenced by various factors, such as the integration of technology in the classroom, school policies, and the frequency and types of technology use. It is important to note that strategies to promote physical activity in elementary schools should be considered as essential factors that affect the overall health and well-being of students during this digital age.
