Abstract
This senior capstone research paper examines the benefits of utilizing modern technology for elementary school students. The world is constantly evolving in terms of technology and diversity within the United States, making it necessary for students to have a sense of cultural awareness and the ability to embrace cultural diversity to create a society where people can work with one another regardless of a person's cultural background. The young generation is growing up in an environment surrounded by advanced technology. For teachers to captivate students in multicultural lessons, they need to be well equipped and supported with technological tools to effectively share accurate information with students. Through the use of literature review with a series of surveys to K-6 teachers, an instructional coach from the salinas area, and a CSUMB faculty staff member, on the technological tools they utilize with their students and the benefits that come along with utilizing those tools in their multicultural lessons, the results findings revealed that teaching children at a young age about multiculturalism is key to helping students build empathy, understand justice and equity, along with preparing them to embrace the beauty of globalization.
