Abstract
Many preschoolers have not yet developed the skills necessary for maintaining basic hygiene. Without the early introduction of hygiene skills, preschoolers may not maintain personal cleanliness, thereby increasing their risk of contracting an illness. When young children learn about the importance of good hygiene, they can create healthy routines, such as washing hands, brushing teeth, and practicing sanitation practices to keep germs away. To increase their hygiene skills, I created a one-day lesson for the preschool students, located in the Early Development program on the California State University of Monterey Bay campus.
