Abstract

Many kindergarten and first grade children have not yet learned effective social skills, particularly in demonstrating kindness towards others. Children who fail to develop these skills may struggle socially, have difficulty forming relationships, as well as developing feelings of loneliness and rejection. Children who do develop these social skills may improve relationships with their peers and may become more considerate people. Therefore, I have created a one-day workshop for first graders from Cypress Community Church in Salinas, California.
