Abstract
The focus of this Capstone Project is the communication barriers between Special Education and General Education educators. The importance of this issue is the lack of time given in order for all subject departments to have efficient time to collaborate during the school year. The negative effects on teachers are then reflected on students academic achievements. Unfortunately, this has issue has been around for decades yet no effective methods have been put in place. Methods that have been considered are more teacher training, peer-mediated instruction, and time allotment between Special Education and General Education teachers. Data was collected from interviews conducted with one administrator, two special education teachers and four general education teachers. Major themes began to emerge from analysis of data collected that lead to three action options. These actions will improve some of the antecedent procedures that could be more effective if they were properly implemented.
