Abstract
Monterey County Behavioral Health Department (MCBH) provides a cultural competency training for their employees; this training includes a foundation in culture, diversity, humility and equity. There was a pre-post survey that was sent out in the beginning and at the end of the training. Participants rated themselves on their skills, knowledge, commitment and awareness. The survey also consists of open-ended questions, and demographic information such as age, gender, ethnicity and their job description. The surveys were entered into a statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) and the data was analyzed. The goal for this project was to examine people’s self ratings using a likert scale to see if there was an increase in their skills, knowledge, commitment and awareness.
