Abstract
The most revolutionary movements in the united states come from civically engagement communities eager for change and desperate for equity. The 1965 Civil rights moment, lead millions of African Africans to exercise exceptional leadership with the intention to make Americans more inclusive by desegregating schools, secured voting rights, and banned employment discrimination (Dewey, 2018 ). This pivotal movement in the United States’ history changed both structural and attitudinal inherencies across the nations. The enrollment of African American students in public schools is a symbolic representation of civic advocacy from past leadership. This capstone project is focusing on promoting civic engagement among African American emerging adults at the California State University Monterey Bay. I have formulated a three-part curriculum concerning civic engagement for African American emerging adults at California State University, Monterey Bay.
