Abstract
Access Support Network (ASN) in Salinas, CA is the only community organization to provide services to those living with HIV/Hep C and to facilitate a syringe exchange program (SEP). As Monterey County has been affected by the opioid epidemic, the syringe exchange has become a vital harm reduction practice to limit the spread of HIV/Hep C. The project that was implemented was a webinar at the December Hep C Charrette to inform participants of ASN’s harm reduction practices, syringe exchange expansion, and how it will benefit the community. After the webinar, 44% of participants reported an increase in knowledge due to the presentation. It is recommended that the Access Support Network continue to conduct informational presentations to increase support from community stakeholders.
