Abstract
Police Activities League (P.A.L.) is a program designed by police departments in low income communities for youth. P.A.L. is a free athletic league for ages 6-14 where kids can come to play sports in order to keep kids safe and out of trouble outside of school. This project was a survey of the effectiveness of the Seaside Police Activities League (P.A.L.). Out of 300 youth, 94 were surveyed and the P.A.L. program was found to be very effective. The survey concluded that P.A.L. is very effective among youth by keeping them active, having a positive environment for them to go to after school, keeping them away from gang activity, drugs, and negative environments.
