Abstract
For my senior field placement I was an intern at the Monterey County Department of Social and Employment services with the Emergency Response Unit (ER). The purpose of ER is to assess safety and risk of children, client advocacy, and provide information and referral services to at-risk families. My project was intended to increase awareness in the community of Seaside about the role of the Emergency Response Unit and decrease the misconceptions that they have about social workers. For my capstone project I created a brochure, included a mission statement, and distributed them around the community.
