Abstract
Emotional reactions and ability to cope with stress affect levels of parental engagement in NICU infant care. Empirical evidence suggests providing culturally competent parent information focused on assurance and education reduces negative emotions, and promotes active engagement in care which can lead to better health outcomes for NICU infants.
