Abstract

This paper addresses the prevalence of agressive behavior in children. The paper highlights the importance of parent involvement in addressing their children's lack of social and emotional skills, in order reduce and/or prevent school violence. The student provided a 3-day bilingual training, based on the award-winning Second Step Family Guide curriculum, to low-income families from three Santa Cruz Head Start sites in order to reinforce the children's empathy, impulse control/problem solving, and anger management skills.
