Abstract

Monterey County Children's Behavioral Health serves youth with mental health issues. Many of these youth are also in the foster care system and are expected to live independently once they turn eighteen. The problem is most of these youth are not prepared for adulthood and independent living. This Capstone project addresses the problem by providing youth with opportunities to build self-esteem, knowledge of services available to them, and positive relationships with adults, so they may have a greater chance of success as adults and living independently.
