Abstract
There are a plethora of benefits that derive from physical education (P.E.). Despite the benefits schools are forced to reduce or forego P.E. because of the emphasis on standardized testing. Even when P.E. is offered, students may not receive quality physical education because most teachers are not trained to teach P.E. This capstone project focuses on the benefits of physical education and how teachers can conduct proper P.E. lessons based on California State Standards. School director and teacher interviews revealed that there was a high need for curriculum guidance. From these interviews, we concluded that creating lesson plans for teachers would be the best solution to offer. These resources would allow teachers to provide their students with P.E. curriculum aligned to state standards.
