Abstract
Latino-based parent educational workshops benefit the relationship between parent and adolescent and create well adjusted families for a better society. This capstone project provided a parent workshop for the Gavilan View English Language Advisory Committee. The workshop aimed to inform parents about issues that adolescents face in today's society, demonstrate positives models of parenting, and help parents develop new strategies to raise their teens. To prepare us for the workshop, we shadowed Josie Yepez, a parent educator from the Salinas Adult School. The "Coffee Klatch" meetings provided parental concerns regarding their adolescents.
