Abstract

This curriculum unit features multicultural books with environmental justice themes that share the common thread of oppression. The lessons combine literature, stewardship, empowerment, diversity, compassion, justice, and social responsibility. Using this curriculum unit will empower students to question unfair practices and stand up to issues of oppression in their own neighborhood and beyond.
