Abstract

This evaluation study was conducted to examine a local district's Individual Transition Plan (ITP) against a national model. Twenty ITPs were randomly selected from one school within the district then evaluated by a checklist of model ITP criteria. Results revealed that a few of the district ITPs used components of a model ITP. Conclusions of this study indicate the need to drastically improve the current ITP process. Moreover, a revised ITP may positively impact service delivery for secondary students receiving special services whose primary disability is a specific learning disability.
