Abstract
Undoubtedly, technology use has rapidly increased with the continuing introduction of innovative technological devices. Such technological devices have made their way to the elementary school classroom in the form of laptops, tablets, e-readers, smart boards, and cell phones. These devices that are used as educational tools have raised several questions. This capstone examines whether elementary school teachers in a public school in Salinas, California consider cell phones a beneficial or harmful tool in the classroom. The use of cell phones as an educational tool in the elementary school classrooms has become one of the most debatable issues. While some scholars believe that cell phones are beneficial in the classrooms, others do not. Administrators and educators must decide whether or not technological devices belong in the elementary school classrooms.
