Abstract
The author will focus on the Migrant Education Program (MEP), the MEP history, the benefits students receive from the MEP, as well as which students qualify to receive the benefits the MEP has to offer. The issue that will be focused upon is employing a more effective recruiter, who is passionate about helping others by raising parental awareness of the MEP. This project will also address the ever important question: are parents aware that children who receive extra support from the MEP and whose parents are involved in their child's education perform better in school? The author conducted three teacher interviews and four parent interviews whose students and or children where in either the 5th or 6th grade. To her surprise parents knew more about the MEP than the teachers whom she interviewed. If the program were better promoted there would be a higher number of Migrant Students enrolled in the program.
