Such actions undermined the efforts of the United Farm Workers union, farm workers and their supporters striving for better working conditions. Growers and labor contractors participated in numerous of illegal activities. Their illegal actions resulted in the murder of Mexican undocumented farm workers and the further exploitation of hundreds.
