Photograph of an interior mural in Bldg. 4440, 3rd floor, west end of the barracks hallway, 42" wide x 55" long. This is a mural representing the 2nd Battalion 9th Infantry Regiment Medics. The smaller mural on the upper left is of the Combat Medical Badge, awarded for performing medical duties while actively engaged with the enemy. The smaller mural on the upper right is of the Expert Field Medical Badge, awarded after the successful completion of field medical examinations. The motto, To Conserve the Fighting Strength, is a variation of the motto for the U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School, To Conserve Fighting Strength. The signed artist is "Helm 90/91."
