Clippings from several Monterey County newspapers on topics such as state vs. local control of the Monterey County Jail; the proposed Francis Amendment, which would have prohibited Communist Party activities in California; and California's scenic highway program. Also included are invitations to dinners and fundraisers, letters from state and federal officials, and photographs of Farr with Secretary of the Interior Stewart Udall, Governor Edmund "Pat" Brown, and others. Clippings date from June 17, 1961, to December 27, 1962.
