Description

Scrapbook of the Monterey Peninsula Japanese American Citizens League. Features newspaper clippings documenting key events and activities of the Monterey chapter of the JACL, including installation ceremonies, Obon festivals, and the Nisei Hall dedication ceremony at the Defense Language Institute. Articles also highlight the contributions of Issei farmers, the achievements of local residents, and community celebrations. Additionally, the scrapbook contains programs from installation dinners and other gatherings. Loose items at the back of the book include a certificate of appreciation for the chapter’s contribution to an event held by Parade of Nations Inc. and a program for a performance by the New Orleans Rascals of the Original Dixieland Jazz Club of Osaka, Japan.
