Description

Scrapbook of the Monterey Peninsula Japanese American Citizens League. Consists mainly of newspaper clippings from the early 1980s documenting the activities and history of the JACL. Featured articles include reflections from Japanese Americans on their experiences in World War II incarceration camps and discussions on the potential for reparations, as well as coverage of local Obon festivals, the achievements of Japanese American residents, and community programs aimed at supporting the region's Japanese population. Additional contents include color photographs of chapter members at various events, such as installation dinners and the organization’s 50th anniversary celebration, along with associated event programs.
