Abstract

Many elementary school children may not yet have developed sufficient skills to manage anger and frustration, which may be particularly noticeable during the COVID-19 pandemic. Without positive ways to cope with emotional stress, children can experience negative psychological consequences. When children learn positive ways to cope with stress and emotions, it can help them strengthen their emotional regulation skills. To address the children’s lack of emotional self-regulation skills, I created a curriculum for third grade elementary school students at Spreckels Elementary School in Spreckels, California.
