Abstract
Some young females in their first year in college may be unaware of being in an unhealthy relationship, and may not recognize what a healthy relationship looks like. When young women are not aware of healthy and unhealthy relationships, they become more susceptible to being in an unsafe situation, feeling insecure about themselves, and not always knowing how to say no when it comes to relationship boundaries being crossed. When young women are aware of healthy relationships, they may feel safe and secure, not just with their partner but also with themselves. In order to address this issue, I created a one-day workshop for freshman players on the women’s water polo team at California State University, Monterey Bay.
