Abstract
Education around invisible disabilities is not typically included in elementary school curriculum. An invisible disability may be defined as “an umbrella term that captures a whole spectrum of hidden disabilities or challenges that are primarily neurological in nature” (Disable World 2022). When you have a curriculum talking about invisible disabilities, it addresses these issues and educates the children more about invisible disabilities. When elementary school children don’t learn about invisible disabilities, they will form biases on their peers who have an invisible disability and be misinformed on what some of these disabilities actually are. I created a three-day lesson for fourth graders at Spreckels Elementary School in Spreckels, California.
