Abstract
The City of Watsonville Parks & Community Services Department serves youth and elderly adults in the Watsonville area where they provide a variety of services for both. The Watsonville Senior Center is partnered with them to offer a variety of recreational programs, activities, and resources to the elderly. The project was to promote yoga as a form of mobility for the elderly and get them to join the class that was already offered by the program. The class consists of an hour of yoga two times a week. The purpose was to encourage the elderly to keep active by promoting the yoga class through flyers where we expect to have more elderly join the class. The results showed that the number of elderly that showed up to the yoga class increased a little. Future steps could include partnering with other businesses or programs to offer more than one yoga class at different locations.
