Abstract
Too many people struggle with mental health problems. The County of Monterey Behavioral Health Access Team is a local government agency within the County of Monterey Behavioral Health (MCBH) Bureau. They provide outpatient services for children, adolescents, adults who are experiencing psychiatric or substance use problems. Contributing factors to poor mental health are due to lack of access to services, having a lower socioeconomic status, and trauma. The consequences to this issue leads to homelessness, substance abuse, and suicide. The purpose of the project was to connect county residents to housing and other resources. As a result, twelve clients were successfully placed on a centralized waiting list to attain services, which will help improve mental health. This project was a success. The expected outcomes were achieved, and the project will continue to be implemented going forward because of how well it was received.
