Abstract
This project tackles health disparities in Monterey County, undertaken by the Blue Zones Project in partnership with Salinas Valley Health, with a focus on fostering healthier lifestyles and social connections within a diverse community. Through a comprehensive data-driven approach, the project assesses the impact of Blue Zones initiatives, utilizing a project flyer to showcase increased community engagement and support for wellness activities. By implementing evidence-based strategies, the project aims to address underlying socioeconomic factors contributing to health disparities, ultimately promoting equitable access to healthcare and healthier behaviors. The findings suggest promising outcomes, with the Blue Zones project meeting its expected goals of measuring increasing community awareness and participation in wellness activities. Moving forward, recommendations include continued investment in similar initiatives and fostering ongoing community involvement to sustain and expand the positive outcomes achieved. This collaborative effort highlights the importance of addressing social justice issues in promoting community health and well-being, serving as a model for future initiatives aimed at addressing health disparities and fostering healthier, more resilient communities.
