Abstract
Some elementary school students who are migrant students may experience emotions related to their migration and being in a new environment, which they may not yet know how to manage. When young children do not know how to manage their emotions, they may feel isolated in their experience and face more consequences in school for emotional outbursts. Teaching students how to manage their emotions may help them feel less alone in their immigration experience and may help them improve their relationships. To effectively address this issue, I developed a two-day lesson for second-grade migrant students at Virginia Rocca Barton Elementary School in Salinas, California.
