Abstract
As I approach the final year of my long and tedious collegiate experience, I found that without the encouragement of an internship, I wouldn’t have had a clue what I wanted to do after I graduate. I was offered an opportunity to intern for the local and historical Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the 2016 race season. I was exposed to the back-end work that ultimately leads to the success of each race. Being responsible for creating events large enough for multiples of thousands of participants and guests attend is both a challenge and a reward. Through the season, I was able to be part of the racetrack’s traditions and changes, which will result in the park’s future success.
