Abstract
Students in today’s society are faced with overwhelming stressors that can influence their emotions, behaviors, and social skills. This project was implemented and used to teach social skills during counseling sessions for a group of elementary school students. These were students who struggled with behavioral issues according to school referrals. The goal was to provide students with tools to improve their social skills and reduce a significant number of referrals. Overall this project only helped changed some student behaviors but did not reduce the number of referrals.
