Abstract
Equitable Entrepreneurship Monterey Bay is a series of public speaking events that are designed to illuminate the talents and insight of some of Monterey Bay entrepreneurship finest. This project is designed to directly address the underrepresented entrepreneurial communities in the Monterey Bay area. The different entrepreneurial communities that are explored throughout these findings are the Veteran, Latinx, and Female entrepreneurial communities.
The contributing factors to the lack of representation are complex in nature and as such could not be accurately described in such a short and succinct project. As such, this project aims to identify just a few possible contributing factors to the problem at hand. The main contributing factors in the Monterey Bay area seems to be a lack of campaigning to diversify the entrepreneurial community in Monterey Bay. There is also a lack of advocacy and awareness throughout these underrepresented communities. . Equitable Entrepreneurship Monterey Bay engaged 15 budding entrepreneurs from the targeted communities, and more than half of attendees expressed interest in entrepreneurship events in Monterey Bay.
