Abstract
Individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID) often do not understand the importance of daily hygiene actions and how they relate to their health and social interactions. Many adults with intellectual disabilities take part in daily hygiene tasks for the sake of them being part of a routine. To help these individuals better understand how these skills play a role in their daily lives, I created a two-day lesson plan on the importance of hygiene skills for adults with intellectual disabilities at Gateway Center of Monterey County in Pacific Grove, California.
