Abstract
Financial issues such as job loss or eviction are the primary cause of homelessness in Monterey County. A source of income is needed for homeless women to transition to and maintain permanent housing. In order to increase employment outcomes, workshops on job search strategies, resume development, and interview skills were developed as an extension of case management services and as a component of the Gathering For Women’s workforce development program. The workshops were designed to address the challenges homeless women on the Monterey Peninsula encounter in obtaining employment. While the workshops were not facilitated due to a COVID-19 pandemic, it is anticipated that when implemented, the education and individual support provided during the workshops and case management will help homeless women on the Monterey Peninsula transition to permanent housing.
